Frequently Asked Questions:

Transferring Credits and Credit for Life Experience

缅北强奸鈥檚 Adult Education Admissions recognizes the importance of saving time and money for our adult students. Two ways to maximize your resources are through transferring previous college credits and gaining credits for relevant life and work experience. We analyze each student case by case, but here are some frequently asked questions to help start the conversation.

Transferring Credits:

Q: Do I have to transfer into 缅北强奸 in the fall semester?
A: No. 缅北强奸 has rolling admissions, so you can apply at any time. We鈥檙e happy to welcome you to the 缅北强奸 community year-round.

Q: What kind of grades do I need to transfer to 缅北强奸?
A: You鈥檒l need to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (higher for some majors) from a regionally accredited two- or four-year institution. A maximum of 75 credits will be accepted in transfer. You must complete a minimum of 45 credits at 缅北强奸 to receive your degree.

Q: How do I know how many credits I will need to complete my bachelor鈥檚 degree?
A: After you have completed the application process, we鈥檒l review your application for admission and do an official transfer evaluation to determine your academic class level.

Q: Does having an associate鈥檚 degree help toward my bachelor鈥檚 degree completion?
A: Yes. 缅北强奸 offers Mid-Degree curriculum evaluations for students transferring more than 70 credits or who have already completed an associate鈥檚 degree. Mid-Degree status allows for flexibility of transfer credits with modified general education requirements. Mid-Degree students must still satisfy the following degree requirements:

  • At least 30 credits must be at the 300/400 level at 缅北强奸, which excludes experiential credit, e.g. life experience, challenge
  • Satisfy requirements for human diversity, and community service
  • Complete at least 12 credits in the major at 缅北强奸

Q: Could my credits from a local institute transfer into my degree?
A: 缅北强奸 does have partnerships with some local institutes, including Berks Technical Institute, PACE Institute, and McCann School of Business, as well as for some EMT and Police Academy programs. Your Enrollment Coordinator will review all your transcripts to see what may apply.

Q: What does 缅北强奸 offer me as a transfer student?
A: Learning for real life, for starters.  At the university, preparing you for a career and getting you ready for a successful and rewarding future is a priority. 缅北强奸 offers you a breadth of academic and specialized, career-oriented fields of study with a boundary-free learning approach that gives you choices and options, and is grounded in the real world. Most importantly, you鈥檒l get the training and knowledge needed to land that first job in whatever field you choose, with a degree from a university employers and grad schools respect.

Then there's the caliber of our faculty. They鈥檙e more than professors. They鈥檙e experts, advisors and mentors, and they鈥檙e dedicated鈥攖o you. They devote their time and attention to you, to help you acquire the knowledge and skills you need to move into the real world after graduation. 缅北强奸 has an average 12:1 student-faculty ratio, with fewer than 20 students in most classes so you鈥檒l get the individual attention that can make the difference in your future success.

Q: Will an 缅北强奸 degree improve my job prospects?
A: Yes. Last year, 缅北强奸 graduates found jobs or were accepted into graduate and professional schools after graduation鈥攁 testament to the respect employers and other schools alike have for the value of an 缅北强奸 degree and the quality of its students. In addition, our Career Center and Alumni network offer wide resources for you to tap into and put to work for you, from your very first day on campus.

Credit for Life Experience:

Q: What is Credit for Life Experience (or otherwise known as Prior Learning Assessment or PLA)?
A: As an adult learner, you may have work or life experience that could be deemed equivalent to college-level learning. This experience can be considered for credit towards an undergraduate degree.

Q: How will my applicable life experience be evaluated?
A: Your Student Success Coach will work with you and department chairs to determine if a portfolio of work or challenge exam may be appropriate.  缅北强奸 will also except credits for 3rd-party exams, such as CLEP testing.

Q: When will my Credit for Life Experience be evaluated?
A: At 缅北强奸, our focus is to help you make a smooth transition back into the classroom or into college classes for the first time. To be your most successful, we encourage focusing on your classwork and acclimating to 缅北强奸 life during your first semester. Your Student Success Coach will then work with you to gather all supporting materials needed for assessment for credits.
